Quote from: RT-55J on Thu, 2026 - 01 - 22, 10:37 PMFWIW, I don't begrudge anybody who was fascinated by image generation in the early DALLE era when the stuff was novel and barely holding together.

I found the early stuff really quite interesting. Very messy and surreal images that vaguely looked like real things. I remember first coming across the concept when someone trained a network on the art from Magic the Gathering art to produce very ethereal images that didn't look like much I'd seen before. This was never a possibility but I wish ai had stayed a novelty for producing wholly inhuman and bizarre art  :snippy:

thanks  :smug: a lot of my glitch art type stuff was made like that. It was almost like finding an art piece by throwing a wrench in a machine and taking pictures of the sparks and gears as it falls apart

Quote from: neen on Thu, 2026 - 01 - 22, 08:56 PMthe part ~16:30 about writing stuff down randomly hits me pretty hard. most of the brain garbage thread stuff over the past year was stuff i had written down on pieces of paper that i thought of while i was working or something. i don't have an active project right now so i feel like i'm stagnant on that, no writing right now.

i miss having actual muse moments, i've felt pretty blank for awhile. stuff still happens, but not like it used to.

anyway, this is super good and i'm always down 2 look at your art, or talk about art, anytime. if i'm awake :hey:

I don't tend to have them as much as I use to and they mostly stopped after a year or so after I moved and went through some relationships ending. I get the sense I could try and relax to let things happen again but I'm warry of what might happen give how distressing I find some of my work.

and thanks  :catgirl: I'll definitely take you up on that

sometimes the art that scares u is good actually. but yeah don't fall into a brain pit. those are bad. stay brainsafe  :smug:

Very true. Often there's a lot of personal growth on the edges of discomfort and art is the same way. The balance is leaning in but not falling over

Came up with some superheroes (?) on whim:

Himbow Jimbow – Kind, dumb as rocks, and capable of murdering you from 20000 feet away without a second thought (with a bow, of course).

Turnstile Myles – Can only rotate his arms forwards, not backwards. Has developed an idiosyncratic martial arts system taking advantage of this fact.

Harry Jane – Grows marijuana from his hair follicles.

Pokey Porker – A pig so fat and so slow that people can't resist looking at him. The perfect accomplice for any task that requires distracting security guards or creating a traffic jam.

Rent-a-Bog – Bog monster for hire. Very competitive hourly rates.
