Purple Norfair is at about the halfway point. It's interesting just how much can be done within the limitations of unaltered graphics.

I'm replacing every screen from the original game, plus some extras. Brinstar has around 50 unique screens at the moment, but that number is expected to rise when I do Blue Brinstar.

Purple Norfair is now complete. Next up is Green Norfair.

I broke one of my rules. I had to make a custom combo because solid lava tiles go unused in Norfair's combo data despite having 2 separate lava structures. They use different tiles, but they're both air tiles.

Green Norfair continues to be a thing. We'll see how much overlap it has with Purple Norfair... I might wind up doing a second pass on it later if I find it necessary.

Only 4 screens left until I move on to Ridley's.

Junk rooms in expanded ROMs are insane. I'll have to make sure there's zero chance of overlap with other areas or else some really crazy things can happen. Door jump at your own risk.

Also, I ended up not using the solid lava combos anyway. Go figure.
