okay, fine. i'm sanctumsys/Rem. i'm here because i left the discord server lmao. favorite foods include sour cream and diced onion wrap, peanut butter and yogurt, sugar-free sodas and sushi. i like games that people often refer to as "objectively bad", "dogshit" and "the worst game i've ever played in my life" as well as some people generally agree are pretty cool; i also make music and other art i've existed for 22 years. i generally prefer realtime chat software (yeah, i'm a bit of a zoomer) but i've given forums a go (had a bad experience on one and a pretty good experience on another). i'm also very, very neurodivergent and queer. cool to see some familiar people around. a picture of how i currently choose to represent myself on the internet may or may not be attached, mainly because i forgot to turn on javascript for this site and as such can't clear attachments

According to the error log in the admin console, the picture you tried to upload exceed the max filesize in the forum's configuration.

Given how threadbare the current hosting situation is here, I am not inclined to raise that limit quite yet.

Just a thirty something who likes dipping her toes into too many hobbies, interests and communities. I'm probably most known (barely) for my work in music communities but I mostly create visual art. I also really enjoy streaming old, odd and obscure videogames. Attached is some random art

* ZZTer, MegaZeuxer. I cut my gamedev teeth on those, but i know rt from ZZT, or more properly the resurgent community since about 2019 especially.
* I do a lot of hobbyist gamedev and RT is a generous person, one of the regular 5-10 or so, who plays my games pretty consistently
* Branching out into Steam this year God willing and me having the drive to follow through.
* (RT even made a level for one of them. I just passed the source code to someone who worked on that project which means maybe, eventually, it'll see light of day in a level pack.)
* My favorite itch game jam, Metroidvania Month, ends after its 2026 winter quarterly edition.
* I am trying to do all of them for the bit and also for the self-discovery/creativity/seeing what can get onto Steam.
* Regulars, pls join me in pressuring RT to join one of them before it's GONE FOREVER.

Hi all, also from the ZZT side of things. Someone was talking about programming game enemies on the ZZT Discord, and someone else said they liked the boss fight in Awful Dates Done Quick: Samantha's Heart Freely Flies Away. Which led me to play it for the first time! I knew of the character just from lurking in Discord for a while, but only today did I know there's a forum, and a website, and a whole lot of worldbuilding beyond that.

Anyway -- very cool, all of it, and I just wanted to drop in and say hi!
