(Inspired by recent news)

Star Fox can be in Mario. Mario cannot be in Star Fox. F-Zero cannot be in Mario. F-Zero can be in Star Fox. Star Fox can only be in F-Zero as a winking reference. Metroid can be in F-Zero and Star Fox. F-Zero can only be in ancillary Metroid material. Star Fox can only be in ancillary Metroid material as a winking reference. Star Fox, Metroid, and F-Zero can all be in Kirby, but Kirby cannot be in Star Fox, Metroid, or F-Zero. Kirby cannot be in Mario, and Mario can only be in Kirby as a winking reference. Zelda exists in the same universe as these other properties, but it cannot crossover either way with them until Hylians discover space travel. (Smash Bros. is it's own thing and exempt from these rules.)

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

(I should probably make a chart to make sure I'm not forgetting anything here.)
