ooh nice. looks like a old Japanese PC adventure game.

Yup. Researched a bunch of PC98 visual novels to try and create something similar although I ended up with something that looks stylistically a little older

For no particular reason, I redrew the townspeople from Zelda 2 at 3x scale (like I did with the dudes from Bokosuka Wars).

This should cover all the NPCs except for the bridge guard, and the kid you rescue later in the game.

I gave the short old man a bird-headed staff because of all the bird enemies in the Great Palace.
