I have received word that there are a lot of angry reviews about the Chinese translation of this game.

I'll try to find some good ones after work.

veni-vidi-ascii

I'm assuming the chinese translation made the game more difficult because they mistranslated the boss and enemy HP.

some highlights of the haterade, presented via Google Translate:

QuoteThe translation is not as good as the one I used with Luna Translator. Is this Chinese readable by humans?

QuoteThe Chinese translation is terrible! I strongly request a change in the font. It's uncomfortable, and the quality of the translation is terrible too. It's contrived, and obscure just for the sake of being obscure. I've been waiting six years for a work like yours to be ruined by a translation team like you. Do you have any brains? Do you have any conscience? Did you get any parental guidance? You 're just living in your own dreams, infected by the Radiance, right? I really want to chop off your heads and kick them like balls! I want to rip out your hearts and eat them raw! With Hollow Knight's translation as a shining example, your translation team can't even copycat! Disgusting! Stupid! If I were you, I'd jump from this building and die as a penance!

QuoteWhere did you find this translation?

You corrupt scholar, your mother has ascended to heaven!

You nitpick words and forget the essence, you flirt and lose your soul! Your translation is like rotten wood stuffed with manure, as foolish as Zuo Te banging his head against the wall! I am a kind-hearted person, but you have doused me with sour vinegar and rotten soup! Hurry and get back to your sour and literary cage, and don't pollute my empty writing! If you touch your translation pen even half an inch again, I will nail your foolish head to the Dirtmouth bench and flog your rotten bones three hundred times with bone nails! Alas! Get out!

QuoteSilk Song Simplified Chinese Translation Team, or someone, have you ever received trust and praise from birth to now?

If so, then I think you are lying,
if not, then it is natural.

QuoteThe Chinese translation is so pretentious that it doesn't conform to Chinese expression habits. The writing style is a mess, so don't force it. It's half-classical and half-vernacular without any ancient charm, just like a middle school student suffering from a chuunibyou. I'll see if I can change it after playing it through and give it a bad review.

QuoteIf you can't speak human language, you don't have to speak it, and if you can't translate, you don't have to translate it.

Friendly critisism from a Steam comment:

"Lots of people think silksong is too difficult to play and enjoy it, but i think it is acceptable. but the money of silksong and chair maybe quite improper, and the HP of the enemy maybe is inappropriate, wait for the next patch.
And finally, we need to change Chinese language translation.
Thanks for your work, guys!"

confession: the more people talk about the action in this search-action game, the more scared i am to actually try it

I haven't beat it yet but from what I've played its mostly fair. Only small things I'd do differently. There're definitely some difficult sections that I've died many times on but nothing insurmountable. You do really have to have certain boss/enemy patterns internalized to beat them tho

I'm really enjoying it. I feel like all of the bosses are pretty fine-tuned to be tough but always learnable from the telegraphed attacks. I feel like the difficulty is the same as Hollow Knight. Hollow Knight bosses were less tough, but not as easy to learn for me because the telegraphs are so subtle from the start. The concept of every single attack being telegraphed like Punch Out was new to me at the time.
