caves of qud really truly is that good

title. exactly as good as you've been hearing. i could play this for the rest of my life. it's hard to explain but something about the specific way it handles its world simulation is unlike anything else i've ever seen (though i hear it's influenced by dwarf fortress)
i haven't even gotten around to the main quest yet and i have so many deaths and nearly all of my attempts that lasted more than ten minutes have gone some interesting unexpected direction and had me learn something
this is the kind of game that makes a storyteller out of the people who play it
