i made my first custom miniboss (and second enemy ever) in super metroid recently. it's pretty basic but it does fog things (moves around). it's implemented on a background layer so making it larger costs no extra cpu like adding more sprites would do. i was trying out some more complex movement but that will be later if it happens at all
