People are always complaining about how Samus's sprite in Metroid 2 is too big. They don't know how lucky there are.

What if I updated my pngtuber to match X-Fusion's portrait style (https://web.archive.org/web/20220505224320/https://metaquarium.wordpress.com/2018/08/10/adam-is-back-again/) before it comes out in a month or two? Hahaha, that's just a joke. :yay: Everybody knows X-Fusion is just a photoshop hoax.

I've made a bunch of edits and enough different emotes to the point that I can safely say that Ms. Arantes there is ready for prime time  :glee:

Just look at how she feels here:

UFO 50's resolution is exactly 1/5 of 1080p, so I was curious what it would look like if it were that resolution in the first place

Since I'm on a UFO 50 kick, here's a mock-up of a Famicom port of Planet Zoldath. The screen proportions and layout are inspired by Hydlide (hence the logo).

The "lore" behind this is that it was farmed out to a different studio that was substantially less talented. Thus, the graphics were shrunken down, and the proc-gen features were drastically simplified. Amongst Famicom enthusiasts, it is regarded as somewhat of a kusoge, with very obtuse mechanics padding out an otherwise short runtime, and having little replay value otherwise.

The port's lasting legacies are (a) convincing LX Systems to not license their games out to other developers or systems and (b) providing the design for Pilot that would be used in later games.

I am super Barbuta-pilled right now like you wouldn't believe.

(mockups are SMS-spec)

I made a couple mockups of what a Game Gear port of Metroid 2 would possibly look like.

I was gonna make a couple more, but wasn't feelin it for whatever reason.
