isn't the implication that the only good clicker games are effectively parodies of the time vortex that clicker games are including themselves to the point of excluding the one that popularized it kind of equivalent to saying seinfeld isn't funny because other shows have since deconstructed and/or subverted what made it funny
I dunno I just think that clicker games should have definite endings (achievable on a scale of hours) rather than eternal progression. The fact that these can be regarded as pastiches is coincidental.
Granted, a clicker game that is not capable of wasting arbitrarily long amounts of time is perhaps barely a clicker game at all.
